The Story behind my Tigers Design
Share
The eldest pixie fell in love with a tiger in Rome when they were 10 months old and has never wavered in their admiration for these big cats.
The original tiger toy (bought in Rome) got mislaid on a dark rainy bus journey home when they were just 2 years old (many tears were shed) but Tiger2 is still in residence on the pillow anytime Pixie1 comes home (too precious to risk taking to university).
We were regular visitors to the tigers at London Zoo all through my children's childhoods and the Sumatran tigers featured on this design are from my sketches of those tigers over the years.
In 2018 we were fortunate to be able to visit actual real tigers in their natural environment in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. On our final outing this included at scarily close quarters with a very large, very stinky male tiger who was sooooo close that I was genuinely concerned that this might not have been one of my better ideas! Taking my 2 precious children within pouncing distance in a jeep that right at that moment didn't feel all that big/fast.
These tigers however are not stinky - and if they come into contact with anything stinky you can just pop them in the washing machine and they'll be back to their sweet smelling selves.
