The story behind my Ducks Design

My ducks design remains one of my bestsellers.

When I launched UmmPixies I began with my foxes and rainbow stripe designs. 

I had planned a "park life" collection and as it happened the pandemic came along and the local parks which had always been a big part of my life became a solace on my once a day outings to the outside world from my garden-less flat.

The duck ponds teeming with life were a reminder of what life was like before and what we hoped it would be like again. 

Seeing the goslings grow, watching the heron stand motionless at the edge of the water- admiring the tufted ducks as their tufts popped back up when the resurfaced from a dive... all seemed like even more of a privilege in that strange existence of the national lockdowns.

That probably explains my inclusion of the coordinating Quacks design. I've always sought to find the fun, the levity , the joy and the sounds of the duck ponds really do lift the soul. Every time I see a customer open a Really Useful Bag and grin when they see the words in the lining I know it's still got the power to soothe with a smile.
