World Snake Day

World Snake Day

This Thursday (16 July) is World Snake Day.

Whether you're an enthusiastic herpetologist or a shriek-at-the-sight type- there's no denying the visual impact of a snake.

Popular as a motif through the ages  snakes of many varieties can be found all around the world. Cobras in Egyptian pharaohs headdresses, the Aztec Quetzalcoatl, the aboriginal  rainbow serpent and more.

Here at UmmPixies we have the British native snakes featured as part of the British Reptile design. The distinctive black and white diamond pattern of the male adder being the most easily recognised.

My British reptiles design also features the grass snake and smooth snake along with our 3 native lizards: the sand lizard, common lizard and the slow worm.
Members of the colourful community will be able to access an exclusive reptile related offer on World Snake Day - if you're not already a member you can sign up here
